WordPress Posts/Pages Visual Editor Ecommerce Button
Your WordPress dashboard Posts and Pages Visual editors gain a new ecommerce button for easy point and click selection and insertion of the full range of Shop Integrator ecommerce plugins available.
WordPress Widget Enabled
If your chosen WordPress Theme supports widgets, you will be able to drag and drop store widgets in to your sidebar, giving your site a professional looking online store in no time at all.
- View Basket/Cart Widget: Give your shopper a View Basket/Cart link in their sidebar to open their shopping basket/cart.
This widget also shows the shopper a running summary of the total number of items in their basket/cart and the total order cost.
- Sell Product Widget: Sell products straight from your sidebar, showing an image and any product information you want to write.
Install our plugin using either method (i) or (ii) below:
(i) Install the plugin through your WordPress blog dashboard. Find the plugins menu and click on the Add New menu item.
Beneath the Install Plugins heading, click on the Upload link.
Click on the Browse button and choose the .zip file you downloaded from this Shop Integrator web page and saved to your local computer's filesystem.
Click on the Install Now button to upload the plugin to your WordPress blog, entering your blog's ftp username and password when asked to do so in the WordPress dashboard.
(ii) Or install the plugin by extracting the plugin from the .zip file downloaded from this Shop Integrator webpage and copying the shop-integrator-ecommerce folder to your blogs plugin directory ( /wp-content/plugins/ ) so that you end up with the directory:
/wp-content/plugins/shop-integrator-ecommerce/
Activate Plugin
In your blog's dashboard, find the plugins menu link and click on it to take you to the list of installed plugins.
You should see the plugin - Shop Integrator Ecommerce Connector - Activate it.
Plugin Settings
With our plugin activated, you will then see a Shop Integrator Ecommerce sub menu item under your dashboards Settings menu, click on this link to go to our plugin's settings page.
You will be asked to enter your Shop Integrator Client Code, which is obtained from your Shop Integrator administration console, on the Account/User Profile page under the My Shop menu. When you have entered your Client Code, click the Save Changes button.
Add Ecommerce To Your Website
With our plugin activated, you will have an easy way of using your WordPress dashboard to add ecommerce to your website using:
(i) A Shop Integrator button on the WordPress Visual Editor when you edit your posts and pages:
Clicking on this Shop Integrator button will launch an Ecommerce Plugin Picker window.
If you do not see the WordPress Visual editor tab when you edit posts/pages, see the WordPress Plugin Faq's tab above on this page.
(ii) Various 'Store ...' widgets listed if you click on the Widgets sub menu item under your dashboard's Appearance menu. If your site's Theme is widget enabled, you'll be able to drag and drop Store widgets in to your sidebar and see them on your blog.
Do I still need to register for a Shop Integrator account?
Yes, you will still need to register for a Shop Integrator account in order to create your store's products, shipping plans etc. using the Shop Integrator online admin console.
Do I still need to copy and paste the Shop Integrator ecommerce plugin script in to my pages?
No, by installing the Shop Integrator WordPress ecommerce plugin it means you point and click to insert your Shop Integrator products and shopping basket/cart straight in to your web site using your WordPress admin dashboard.
I don't see the Shop Integrator button when I edit posts/pages as I don't have the Visual editor tab in my WordPress editor?
If the Visual Editor is disabled for your user you will not see the Visual editor tab when you edit posts/pages, as shown below:
In your blog's dashboard, find the Users menu link and click on it.
Find your WordPress username and click on its 'Edit' link to take you to the Personal Options page for your profile.
To enable the WordPress Visual Editor for you user, make sure that there is NO TICK in the box next to the 'Disable the visual editor when writing' text. You want it to look like the image shown below.
If you have unticked the Visual Editor setting, save the change by clicking on the Update Profile button at the bottom of your Personal Options page.
