That way a product may be priced to always have the required cost in a given currency regardless of exchange rates, to give a cleaner visual display. For example, using direct pricing it is possible to set the cost of a product to always be £99, $180 or 140 Euros. Using foreign exchange rates on a particular day, the item may cost your customer £99 or $182.85 or 142.86 Euros.
